China and Russia Promotes Wood Downstream Processing Cooperation

June 15, the focus of future cooperation with Russia will be put on the wood downstream processing area. The reporter learnt from one of Russian Business Day seriary activities – Sino-Russian Wood Downstream Processing Cooperation Projects Promotion Conference

It is reported that impacted by the global financial crisis, the import of log from Russia has been down by 26% since 2008. It is a good time to develop the cooperation on wood downstream processing between China and Russia. There is a long way to go for Sino-Russian forestry cooperation according to the resources and geographic prominence. The key to forestry cooperation is to enhance the cooperation on wood downstream processing.

At the conference, delegates from governments and enterprises introduced the plan on co-developing and utilizing the forestry resources of Jewish Autonomous Oblast. They also promoted the wood downstream processing projects.
