Brief Introduction of the 4th China Harbin Frontier and Local Economic and Trade Fair

The 4th China Harbin Frontier and Local Economic and Trade Fair was opened on June15th, 1993 in Heilongjiang International Exhibition Hall, with contracts signed worth of 7.13 billion U.S dollars which was a little higher than that of last year.

3500 businessmen from 43 countries and regions such as Korea, Japan, United states United kingdom, Canada, Italy, France, Germany, Swiss, Belgium, Australia, Taiwan, Hongkong, Macau, etc, as well as many east European countries, Russia, for example, attended this year's fair which become more internationalized.

New characters emerged from this year's fair:

1. Trade by cash grew rapidly with powerful potential for economical and technical cooperation, while total contract value is five times as much as last year's and increased by 60 percent respectively. Emphasis was laid on combination of trade and economic and technical cooperation, domestic trade and foreign trade with more than one thousand of domestic trade contracts.

2. Distinguished gathering pattern appeared for international trade in northeast China with customers of obviously higher quality. In attendants from 43 countries and regions are customers with many years of attending history, are new cooperation partners from CIS countries, are representatives from business enterprises, scientific and research institutions from peripheral countries and regions, developed countries in Europe and America. Most of the customers have import and export managing right to China, have supply of goods, certificate, actual economical strength, all of which realize multi-lateral cooperation in this fair.

3. Combination of trade with economic and technical cooperation was emphasized further. Besides the increase of economic and technical cooperative contracts signed between China and CIS countries, 114 economic and technical cooperation contracts were signed between China and peripheral countries and regions in this fair with total investment of 403.87 million U.S dollars including foreign investment of 157.35 million U.S dollars and 14 big items of ten million U.S dollars.

4. Enterprises attending the fair had abundant strength. Besides medium sized companies, 70 big and medium sized enterprises from provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions took part in the fair for the first time and became the main power for the foreign trade action. 45 Hi-Tech enterprises from eight Hi-Tech zones in the country joined the fair and created the condition for expanding technical cooperation. the strength of project contracting and economical cooperation was shown on 53 economic and technique exhibition booths from 18 international economical and technical cooperation companies

Main Concluded Projects

1. Thousands of individual working people signed contracts of 30,000 pairs of shoes with Qingdao Double Star Group.

2. Harbin Film Machinery Factory signed 6 contracts of domestic trade.

3. China Haikou Municipal Liaohe Industry & Trade Company and Heilongjiang International Economy & Trade Corporation signed contracts with Russia Ural International Economy & Trade Corporation, which total investment was 4.781 billion US dollars.

4. Harbin National Medicines and Health Products Import & Export Corporation signed import and export contracts by cash worth of 2.95 million US dollars with Ukraine.

5. Harbin Dachang Company signed import and export contracts by cash worth of more than 20 million US dollars.

6. China Hailong Photoelectric Science Technology Company signed contracts at 200,000 US dollars of total value with some South America countries, such as Brazil, Peru, etc.
